Alexander Smith, O.D.

Alexander Smith, O.D. serves as Head of Doctor Network at National Vision, where he partners with leaders across the organization to ensure optometrists deliver the highest standard of clinical care while building rewarding careers. He oversees the Doctor network’s leadership programs and leads initiatives in doctor training, development, mentorship, innovation and continuing education that support the success of doctors affiliated with the network. Dr. Smith also focuses on executing business objectives that increase access to care for patients.

Dr. Smith brings over two decades of experience in the optometric industry, beginning his career as a practicing optometrist at America’s Best in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. He has practiced in medical, retail and group settings and has held executive management roles focused on championing optometrists throughout their careers.

Dr. Smith earned a B.A. from James Madison University and both a B.S. and Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
