Lisa Martén M.D. has over 15 years of ophthalmology experience, specializing in anterior segment, cataract, cornea, refraction surgery and general eye health. In addition to serving as the President of EyeCare-Pro where she oversees multiple offices in Texas, Dr. Martén is an assistant clinical professor at UTHealth Sciences Center.

Dr. Martén started her education at Tulane University, acquiring a B.S. in Mathematics. She then attended graduate school at Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, where she earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Nutrition. To complete her time at Tulane, she earned her medical degree from Tulane Medical School. Outside of the classroom setting, Dr. Martén sharpened her clinical skills through an ophthalmology residency at the UTHealth Sciences Center and later became a fellow in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of Tennessee Memphis/Wang Vision Institute.

Dr. Martén was raised in San José, Costa Rica, and has a diverse cultural background that allows her to offer the best service to her patients in their native language. When she’s not in the exam lane, Dr. Martén enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
